Cosmetology Program ~ 2 Yr. Program Open to Juniors & Seniors

Be on the cutting edge!

Prepare for your career in Cosmetology! Cosmetology utilizes your creative skills and talents like no other profession can. And it can also take you almost anywhere. This is a competitive field, but the most elite hair stylists quickly rise to the top. Their work greatly influences modern personal appearance trends.

Hair stylists and designers provide hair care services to enhance the appearance of their clients. From classical cuts to haircuts that are fierce, cosmetologists are able to provide a wide range of cutting and styling techniques that have wide client appeal.

CosmetologyYou'll learn how to:

  • Work with different hair types
  • Cut and style hair that's curly or straight, thick or fine
  • Properly color hair
  • Properly apply highlights and lowlights

Cosmetology I (3 Credits)

This first year course consists of orientation to cosmetology, fundamentals of cosmetology, chemical reformation and related theory, principles of hair coloring, intermediate haircutting and related theory, artistry of hair,and manicures.

This course will satisfy PE graduation requirements.

Cosmetology II (3 Credits)

This course includes advanced cosmetology instruction.The students practice advanced hair design, learn about salon development, and prepare for the Texas Cosmetology Commission exam. Students will gain real world experience by practicing their skills on clients.

Students must apply to attend this specialty program. Cosmetology is located at Clear View Education Center and is open to all CCISD sophomores and juniors to enroll for the following school year. Applications are available at all campus Counseling Offices and/or Career Centers. All applications will be reviewed and students will be notified before the end of school.
