Q: Do I have to make an appointment for registration?

Answer: Elementary and intermediate students do no have to make an appointment to register for classes. It is recommended that the parents of high school students make an appointment with their student's campus for registration to avoid lengthy lines.

Q: When is kindergarten registration?

Answer: Elementary schools hold kindergarten in conjunction with all other grade levels. Please visit the back to Back to School Toolkit page for registration information to see when your campus has kindergarten registration.

Q: What is the birth date requirement for kindergarten students?

Answer: September 1 is the cut-off date used by Clear Creek ISD. A child must be five years old by September 1 of the year he/she begins kindergarten.

Q: Do you screen kindergarten students and make recommendations on whether or not they should attend or wait a year?

Answer: We do not make recommendations on whether a child who will be five by September 1st should attend kindergarten. Our process is one of registering, not screening, incoming students. If you have questions regarding the readiness of your child, campus principals, teachers and guidance counselors are available to talk with you to help you make the decision on whether your child should attend or wait a year.

Q: When is the first day of school?

Answer: The new school year begins on August 25, 2009. Please review the 2009-2010 District Calendar for information on important events, holidays and scheduling.

Q: What is the start time and end time of a regular school day?

Answer: Hours are as follows unless otherwise noted (see school campus page for specific hours of operation):

  • Elementary 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
  • Intermediate 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • High School 7:20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Q. Where can I find special information on school closings due to an emergency?

Answer: In the event of an emergency, important updates will be posted on the homepage of the district's web site (www.ccisd.net). The information line (281) 284-0027 is also used to relay vital district information and updates. Emergency information is updated as the situation warrants.

Q. What are the District's regular and emergency contacts?

Q. What school will my child attend next year?

Answer: During the school year, student registration occurs at the school your child will be attending. The attendance boundaries for 2009-2010 have changed for several schools. Please visit the attendance boundary page for detailed information.  

Q. Do we enroll students who do not reside in this district?  

Answer: No we do not, you must reside in the district to attend our schools, see Policy (FDA Legal/Local)

Q. My child attends another school district in the area. I received a letter saying that if my child's school is low-performing, I can send him/her to another school district - is this correct? 

Answer: While this information is correct as provided by the Texas Education Agency, the Agency also gives districts the option as to whether or not to accept out-of-district students. Clear Creek ISD does not accept out-of-district students. (Refer to Policy FDA(Local) ).

Q. Will my son or daughter have to wear a uniform at school? 

Answer: The Clear Creek ISD's Dress Code is outlined in all student handbooks. Student handbooks are distributed at the beginning of the school year, however, to assist in purchasing the wardrobe for the school year, visit our Back to School Toolkit page for more information. 

Q. Can I rent a room in one of your schools for a meeting?  

Answer: Our schools are often used by different service organizations for evening meetings. Please contact our Facility Rentals Team at 281-284-0061 for more details.

Q. Who handles vendor questions?  How does a vendor acquire an RFP? 

Answer: Questions regarding vendors and acquiring an RFP should be directed to the CCISD Purchasing Department.

Q. How can I get involved?
