STAAR Testing in Texas

STAAR™

CLEAR CREEK ISD WELCOMES YOU TO STAAR

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) introduced a new student testing system in the 2011-2012 school year called the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) – pronounced “star.” This new test for all students in grades 3-11 has replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS).

Families should be aware of the specific requirements of STAAR as it pertains to their children. To familiarize yourself with this new testing system, visit the pages for ELEMENTARYINTERMEDIATE and HIGH SCHOOL depending on your child’s age. You may also want to look ahead to the next level’s information to better prepare your child for academic success. If your child receives special education services or is an English Language Learner, visit the Special Populations link.
