Safe and Secure Schools
Providing a safe and effective environment for children is of the utmost importance to all of us in Clear Creek ISD. The Department of Safe and Secure Schools oversees security, liaison officers, background checks on employees and volunteers, and crossing guards for schools.
- Clear Creek ISD contracts through the Galveston County Sherriff’s Office to provide uniformed, full-time officers to patrol schools and assist in investigations. These officers also provide security and law enforcement services at athletic and after hours special events such as football games and graduation.
- Liaison officers are assigned to secondary campuses with a goal of establishing a rapport between students and police.
- CCISD employs a team to monitor surveillance cameras and serve as a centralized dispatch to campuses.
- CCISD uses a K-9 interdiction service where specially-trained dogs inspect schools and parking lots for the presence of alcohol, drugs or explosive weapons.
- Video surveillance systems in schools help administrators monitor campus activity.
- Criminal history searches are performed on all applicants for employment, all persons who volunteer, and all contractors who on district property.
Emergency Procedures
CCISD has comprehensive emergency procedures plans in place. In the event of an emergency that would force the closure of schools, the district’s phone emergency system and community hotline at 281-284-0027 will be activated with an important message.
