Welcome back Terrific Terrapins!
On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to welcome our new families to Armand Bayou Elementary (ABE). I am eager to get to know each of you!
Armand Bayou is built on a tradition of excellence in the heart of our space community. I want to say thank you and congratulations to all the teachers and staff that nurture and challenge all ABE students. It is through providing rigorous and relevant instructional opportunities that led to a TEA Exemplary school for the 2008-09 year. This great achievement would not be possible without positive parent and community relations. Thank you to all the volunteers and parents that contributed by helping at one of our many campus events, taking time to check homework, providing encouragement to your little one, or being a mentor to a student in need. You are all amazing!
I believe that collaboration and communication is a key to successful learning communities. Therefore, each 9-week period, I host a “Coffee Talk” session for the parents and community members. These sessions provide detailed information on campus happenings, curriculum, and gives you a glimpse into our teaching practices. Dates and times will be posted on the website. Hope to see you there!
Above all, I am intentional about building a professional learning community for our teachers as well as supporting and building relationships with students, parents, and community members. My hope is that your child navigates through his or her educational adventures with diligence, humility, and confidence while discovering a love for learning.
