Clear Creek Independent School District

Message from the Principal

Welcome to the 2009-10 school year!  Thank you for sharing your precious child/children with us.  Together we are going to make this year the best ever!

Already we’ve had a great time at Bear Splash, at least until nature assisted with an impressive thunderstorm!  Thank you PTA for providing such a fun way for us to hook up with friends new and old, after seeing class assignments.  We also enjoyed Bear Camp 2009 the morning before school started.  Thank you to everyone who made Bear Camp possible.  Our students love getting to meet their teacher and check out their classroom the day before school starts.

The first day of school we welcomed 618 students to our Brookwood Elementary family.  Once our children were settled in class, many of our parents went to the beautiful Brookwood Library for a Tears and Cheers Celebration.  This celebration included an opportunity for our parents to visit with old friends and make new ones, and included a warm welcome from Principal Catherine Homer.

We’re very excited about the new PTA website Brookwoodpta.com.  This is the place to go for all things PTA and Brookwood Elementary.  It includes activities, events, fund raisers and volunteer opportunities.  We have a lot of exciting events planned for the year and lots of opportunities for you to have fun with us!

I strongly encourage everyone to find a way to get involved.  Our school is Exemplary not because of the efforts of a single individual or group, but because of the way our educational community works together to support our children.  Clearly, we bring out the best in each other, and that facilitates the brightest future possible for our children.  I encourage everyone to log on to brookwoodpta.com and choose a place to get involved.

And this week, sneak a little note inside your child’s lunch or backpack and tell them how much you love them and how proud you are of them!
