People are the heart of every successful school district - and the Clear Creek Independent School District takes great pride in the highly qualified Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and staff, all of whom are dedicated to providing the best possible educational environment for all students.
CLHS is a comprehensive high school with an enrollment of 3553 students. (09/05/06) Of this total, 967 are freshmen, 940 are sophomores, 853 are juniors, and 791 are seniors. The student body is composed of students from all parts of the United States and many foreign countries. Our ethnic diversity is 69% Caucasian, 14% Asian. 12% Hispanic and 5% Black. CLHS is located one mile from NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Many diversified aerospace corporations serve the needs of NASA. Other major contributors to the local economy are the petrochemical industry, tourism, recreational boating, and the many businesses which serve a diverse suburban population.
CURRICULUM consists of almost 330 courses for
students to choose to prepare themselves for college, university, technical school or a career. Courses are offered at a regular level of study as well as an advanced level. Regular courses are the courses in which the greatest portion of the student body enrolls. Advanced Academic, Pre-Advanced Placement, and Advanced Placement courses are advanced level classes that provide students with more concentrated study in a particular field.
