Clear Creek Independent School District

Announcements Friday, November 20, 2009

This spring break, a group of students who are enrolled in or who have finished with level 2 of a language other than English are going to London, Paris and Madrid. To be a part of this amazing opportunity, see Ms. Strom in room 328. The deadline to sign up is in November.

The winter months are approaching, and Clear Lake High School is holding a coat and blanket drive to help ensure that everyone has a warm holiday. By banding together, we can make a difference. Drop off your new or gently used coats and blankets in the boxes located around campus by November 20th. Your donations will go to Cross Roads Ministries Homeless Shelter the Star of Hope Mission & Interfaith Caring Ministries.

If you have Monday, Wednesday duel credit classes you will need to attend your Monday 11/23 class.  If you have Tuesday, Thursday duel credit classes you will need to attend your Tuesday 11/24 class.  Please do not miss those classes.

Student Council is collecting brand new toys to give to the children who are less fortunate this winter. Student Council is asking for toys to be donated. Collection boxes will be set up at the West wing and East wing offices as well as in the Ninth Grade Center office.

Interact Club will be holding a “change war” among the classes from November 30th to December 11th. Freshman, sophomores, junior and seniors will compete against each other during lunches by seeing who can collect the most change in their jar by the end of the week. Put your loose change in YOUR grade jar, and put dollar bills in the OPPOSING GRADE’S jar. The funds will be donated to the local Rotary club in support of the eradication of Polio. The winning class gets to pie the opposing class officers at the December improv show.

Lake is presenting the first annual Lakestock show, a performance by talented and diverse musicians of Clear Lake High School.  The show will have 20 different musical collaborations, and you don’t want to miss it.  It is on Saturday, December 5th at 7pm in the main building auditorium.  Tickets will be on sale during the week of the show, which is the week we get back from Thanksgiving break. Among these acts are Joseph Killam, Taylor Janney, James and Mika Tabata, Zane Wommack, Forever in a Day, a Candle Lit City, Andy Wang, Lauren Mahoney, and plenty of other great performers!  For a complete list of acts, look at a yellow poster in the commons or join the facebook group for Lakestock.
