The mission of Ferguson Elementary School is to face the challenge of preparing our students to be contributing members of society. We will develop a learning environment in which all students will be challenged. Goals include self-discipline, personal growth, respect for self and others, and a working knowledge of skills needed to succeed.

Lloyd R. Ferguson Elementary School is named after Dr. Lloyd R. Ferguson who was CCISD Superintendent from 1964 to 1976 and Interim Superintendent from December 1987 to June 1988. Ferguson was opened to students in August 1990 with 840 students who came from Stewart and League City Elementary schools. In 1992, Ferguson received a Performance Gain Award from the state for achievement in TAAS scores from the previous year.

At the time the award of $156,000 was received, it was the largest amount ever given to a CCISD campus. Since then, our school has continued to receive "Exemplary Status" for the students’ excellent TAAS test performance.

We currently have an enrollment of 867 students and a faculty of 75. Elaine Sanders has been principal of Ferguson Elementary since 1999. Past principals were Peter Quattrini, 1990-1997, and Peter Caterina, 1997-1999.
