- Overdue notices will be printed and given to the students.
Students may come to the library with their classes or any other time during the school day with permission from their teacher. - The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are encouraged to participate in the Bluebonnet Reading Program. There are twenty books nominated for the Bluebonnet Award. Students in these grades, who have read at least five of the twenty books, may vote for their favorite at the end of January. Their votes, along with the votes of other third, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders across the state of Texas, determine the winner of the Bluebonnet Award!
- Read Tac Toe is a district initiative which encourages a love of reading and an exploration of genres. All K-5 students are encouraged to participate in the program. Each student that fulfills the requirement for their grade level will receive a reading certificate at the end of the year. The goal of the program is to give students a broad experience in choosing different books and genres. Studies show that students who are able to choose reading materials based on personal interests are more likely to become better, life-long readers.
Students may use the Internet for class projects if the CCISD Acceptable Use Policy has been returned with a parent signature. - Students may not access their personal email in the library.
- Parents may check out a maximum of five books and keep them for up to two weeks. We would like for parents to get books they can read and enjoy with their children.
We encourage parents to come to the library to check out books or to volunteer their time and energy. We always have little (and big) jobs that need doing.
