The mission of
I. W. and Eleanor Hyde Elementary is to provide a positive learning atmosphere that encourages cooperation between home, school, and community to ensure that our students will become responsible, successful citizens.
The Clear Creek Independent School District was consolidated in 1948. Schools in League City, Kemah, Seabrook, and Webster were combined to form the new district. At that time, Mr. I. W. Hyde was president of the Board of Trustees of the League City School District. In that capacity, Mr. Hyde was responsible for calling the first election for trustees of the consolidated district. He served on the first Board of Trustees of the new Clear Creek Independent School District.
His commitment to children and to his community has remained strong throughout the years. Interest in education is a family trait. Mrs. Eleanor Hyde taught school in the Clear Creek ISD for 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hyde also instilled the love of education in their son who is currently a teacher.
For many years to come, I. W. and Eleanor Hyde Elementary School will represent a celebration of the contributions of two citizens to the children of the Clear Creek Independent School District!
