Mission Statement
North Pointe is
committed to providing our students an opportunity to reach their full
educational potential in an engaging and nurturing environment.
North Pointe opened its doors in November of 1995. We get our name from
the Northfork and Bay Pointe subdivisions that feed North Pointe
Elementary. We are located at the north most point of the school
district. We currently have a diverse population of 755+ students and
80+ faculty/staff members. Our neighbors include Ellington Field and
the Boeing Corportation. We are quite fortunate to have in our parent
population several NASA employees including astronauts who have flown
on several shuttle missions. These parents are always available to
volunteer and provide memorabilia for our Science and Space Museum.
North
Pointe continues to excel in all areas tested having earned the highest
rating that TEA awards: Exemplary for the school years 2006, 2007, and
2008. In Fall 2008, North Pointe made the Texas Business and Education
Coalition Honor Roll. Of the more than 8,000 Texas public schools less
than 4% are honored. The TBEC Honor Roll is the most prestigious award
for sustained, academic excellence in Texas. TBEC identifies Honor
Roll schools by analyzing three years of performance data for every
public school in Texas. A TBEC Honor Roll school must have a high
percentage of students meeting state standards on every TAKS test for 3
consecutive years. That’s the easy part; TBEC Honor Roll schools also
have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most
rigorous standard – commended – in every subject. North Pointe was
recognized, along with the other 384 Texas schools, in November at an
Awards Reception and Dinner in San Antonio.
Every year is a great year at North Pointe Elementary. We look forward
each day to working with our students, parents, and community to ensure
the success of every child.
