District Committees
School Boundary Advisory Committee (SBAC)

The Clear Creek Independent School District believes education is a partnership with parents and the community. It is with this in mind, the District has a well-established process in developing school attendance zones through what is known as the School Boundary Advisory Committee (SBAC). SBAC is comprised of parents and community members from across the district. This group utilizes demographic data and trends, facility capacity and instructional capacity data, and detailed neighborhood maps to form recommendations in accordance to the charges approved by the Board of Trustees. You can view District policy regarding attendance zones and the work of SBAC by Clicking Here.

Mission

The SBAC shall examine potential attendance zones as well as related challenges associated with new and anticipated growth of CCISD and recommend new attendance zones which:
  • Maximize the learning opportunities and needs for student achievement
  • Make efficient use of instructional facilities
  • Consider available data provided by district and demographer
  • Consider constructive public feedback
  • Why is SBAC needed?
The Clear Creek Independent School District is a fast-growing school district. For example, between 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years, the district enrolled more than 700 new students. This is equivalent to an elementary school. This has been a steady trend for the last several years. There are portions of the school district that are growing exponentially in student enrollment while other parts are witnessing an enrollment decline. Maximizing the use of district facilities is important.

SBAC Tasks
  • Recommend attendance zones for elementary and intermediate schools to the Board of Trustees
  • Make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for future consideration based on findings generated through the SBAC process
SBAC Developments

The Board of Trustees has not called on SBAC for this year.
