CLEAR CREEK ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES CALL FOR ELECTION
Three BOT Seats Up For Re-Election
League City -- The Clear Creek Independent School District‘s Board of Trustees passed a resolution calling for an election to be held on May 12, 2012. Interested candidates can begin filing applications February 4, 2012. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is at 5:00 P.M on March 5, 2012.
All registered voters of the School District residing in Single-Member District 4 can vote for one candidate in Single-Member District 4, All registered voters of the School District residing in Single-Member District 5 can vote for one candidate in Single Member District 5 and all District registered voter may vote for one candidate for the Candidate-At-Large A position. District 4 is currently held by Page Rander, District 5 is currently held by Dee Scott and the At-Large A position is currently held by Charles Pond.
The CCISD Board of Trustees also approved new election boundaries during the November 28, 2011 meeting. The most recent Census data was used to create districts which best reflect population growth in CCISD. The new map outlining the five districts is not related to school attendance zones and is strictly for the purpose of Trustee representation of the community.
While some voting districts have shrunk in size geographically, the new boundaries were configured so that each trustee represents the same number of constituents; about 42,000 people per each of the five districts. If your voting district changed, so did the location of where you will cast your ballot. Please see a list of polling places on page 2 of this news release for Election Day and for Early Voting locations.
