FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

LEAGUE CITY, Texas—Clear Creek Independent School District appointed Lori Broughton, Ph.D. as the new principal of McWhirter Elementary School during the May Board of Trustees meeting. Broughton comes to Clear Creek ISD with more than 20 years of service as a teacher and campus administrator.

 

According to Broughton, she is convinced that effective schools should encourage students to ask questions in order to develop a passion for learning.

 

“In every decision I make,” Broughton said, “I ask myself, ‘How will this impact children?’”

 

Broughton most recently served the Pearland ISD as principal of Jamison Middle School. She earned her doctorate in educational psychology from Texas A&M, her master’s degree in Educational Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her bachelor of science in elementary education from the University Texas at Austin.
