CSHS BandMusic Enrichment

The Clear Creek ISD Private Instruction Program offers individual instruction to students enrolled in our instrumental and vocal music programs. Supplemental music lessons are offered as enrichment to classroom instruction. These lessons are designed to utilize the characteristic literature of the instrument or voice, rather than to rehearse the music a student will be performing in his or her school organization. Participation in these supplemental lessons is optional.

Students who elect to not participate in supplemental lessons will not be penalized. Supplemental music lessons do not affect the student’s grades in music and are not a requirement for placement in advanced performing ensembles.

Dance is movement, visually organized in space and time. A dancer’s skills and techniques are often based on tradition and passed down from one generation to the next. Nonetheless, dance is in a constant state of self-definition. Dancers, choreographers and all those involved in studying and performing dance take part in defining and reinterpreting the art form.

Dance education in Clear Creek ISD provides all students with the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of dance as an art form. Students learn and refine dance skills and techniques in class and in performance, study the historical and cultural significance of dance and its evolution as an art form and evaluate personal work and the work of others.

Theatre education provides excellent opportunities for children and young adults to explore and experience connections to other historical periods and cultures. Clear Creek ISD's theatre programs are closely aligned with social studies curriculum in the elementary school, providing teachers with opportunities to teach theatre processes and knowledge, while enhancing students’ understandings of the world around them.

Through research, creative thinking, problem solving and improvisation, our intermediate school students acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful in theatre, as well as begin to develop the self-discipline required to accomplish long- and short-term goals.

Our high school theatre courses provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to continue studies at the college level, pursue theatre as an avocation and/or become educated audience members.
